Renaissance and Link Crew Coordinator This month, we have successfully ran link crew training, freshman orientation, First day of school with link crew, Renaissance videos, and renaissance sign ups. We have made three renaissance videos that were posted on the ASB instagram page. We still need to print and pass out the Renaissance cards for this quarter
My standing committee is Renaissance and Link Crew. We are going to have a work time for the committee in the near future to cut out cards.
My special Committee is Black Light Rally. The Black Light rally went smoothly. The committee all showed up to make posters, set up lights, and put glow tape on the ground. We had a work day in class for cutting tape.
The whole class worked on the Back to school dance. It. was chaotic but we had a good turnout. Tickets were sold Monday through Friday of club rush week. The class posted on social media about the dance which helped with turnout. One concern was that the dance was somewhat unsafe because of people throwing around waters. Bottles hit people in the eye and it made the ground slippery.
One concern I have is about the Back to School dance. Due to giving out free waters, the dance was somewhat unsafe because of people throwing around waters. Bottles hit people in the eye and it made the ground slippery. It was also a pain to clean up. A way we can fix this is by selling waters so people who buy them won’t waste them. One positive comment I have is to Natalie. I could tell that she worked extremely hard on the rally to make it fun and engaging. All of her plans went smoothly and she was very well prepared.
One change I would like to see is more investment from underclassmen and committee members so that the main person in charge isn’t overloaded with work.
My impact on this campus was guiding the freshman the first day of school, showing them the classrooms to go to and making them feel welcome and not overwhelmed by a new campus and a new environment. I supported school spirit during club rush by dressing up every day and posting for club rush.

This month, we have made and distributed Renaissance cards and Academic block R pins and patches. We had some issues getting them out in a timely fashion because of the high numbers and teachers not being willing to let students distribute them, but overall it went well and we are committed to do better the next time.
My standing committee is Renaissance. We wrote the cards during our work days and had others help us distribute the cards and rewards.
My special committees are Tri Tip, Kyoto, Fall Sport Senior Nights, and Homecoming Homecoming went relatively smoothly. We had a lot of float decorating nights and we got many students outside of leadership to walk with the float. The lipsync practice and rally went well because we practiced often and many people came to support from our grade and were spirited. I hosted students for Kyoto and also encouraged others to support their arrival. I helped set up for lunch with the students. I am on the Fall Sports Senior night committee and I attended Water Polo senior night and supported. For Tri tip sales our group sold around my neighborhood because I live in our area and I sold to a few teachers.
One concern I have is that teachers are unaware on the rules of Renaissance late passes and make it difficult to pass out cards by kicking students out of their classroom without giving the chance for a solution such as if the class is taking a test, giving the teacher the cards to pass out at the end of the period.
One positive comment I have is about Troy. He is always on top of things and willing to help out. He is also always in a good mood when I see him.
One change I would like to see is Leadership involving people who are not in the class like student senate members to help with our special committees such as senior nights in which numbers are the most important.
My impact on the world and on campus is being spirited and always being a good example. I made an impact on my Kyoto students by being a good host and I am always making an impact by having good work ethic and being kind.
ASB Report November & December Lydia Waters Renaissance and Link Crew Coordinator 12/16/19
These past months, we have made and distributed 2nd Quarter Renaissance. We did not complete it in an ideal time frame, but we did better than the last time which is one of our core principles. We also held the hot chocolate social and will be holding finals study buddy nights the 16th and 17th.
My standing Committee is also renaissance. We have gotten our committee involved in telling others to sign up, writing and distributing the cards.
My special committees are hot chocolate social and door decorating. These events went pretty well. We had a good turnout at the hot chocolate social and we had leftover for the choir concert. We did not have any issues with the door decorating, and to my knowledge, they did not fall off and no one ripped them down.
One concern I have is when we have events such as the presentations, we were unable to do spirit counts and it gave the student body a bad impression of the Leadership class and they were upset because a large number of people dressed up.
One positive comment I have is to Katelyn for helping serve hot chocolate at the Night Rally. She was super helpful.
One change I would like to see is more of an involvement of Link Crew and student senate in our events. This was very successful with warm and fuzzy week and I am hoping to see it in the study buddy nights.
My impact on the world and on campus is being spirited, helping others and always being able to step in even if it’s not my role.
ASB report January and February Lydia Waters Renaissance and Link Crew Coordinator
This month, we have done link crew applications and had a successful interview activity. In addition, we have collected renaissance sign ups, made the cards, and will pass them out in the next few days. We have also designed the t shirts and set up the rewards for this quarter of 4.0 students.
My standing committee is also Renaissance. We have gotten our rank and support members to help out in writing ace tickets, writing cards, and clearing applications. Our support has been very helpful to getting everything done quickly and efficiently.
My special committees are Winterfest, Talent show, and Valentine’s hearts. We did well in Winterfest. I helped with the cart and decorations and we had some malfunctions with our cart, but other than that we did pretty well, especially in spirit. For the talent show, we set up easily and quickly and cleaned up because everyone put in effort did their fair share. For valentine’s hearts, we got them up in about 25 minutes which was crazy and everyone came prepared and did what they were supposed to.
One concern I have is that we spend valuable class time doing Dare to Lead which is helpful, but we are spending 20% of our time on it and it limits our overall productivity in our program.
One positive comment I have is for Troy because he is always helpful in showing me how to do things and what needs to get done. Especially with this new cycle of Link Crew, he collaborates with me on everything that needs to be done to make sure I know what I’m doing and what’s happening.
One change I would like to see is the involvement of other classes such as peer helping in class in large school projects such as valentine’s hearts.
My impact on the world and on the school is helping others and making an impact on the freshman. I strive to show school spirit every day at school and spread kindness in the world.
